This is my last entry on my old blog. Please go to my new blog at http://www.corinnaraznikov.com It looks the same, but has a super easy interface so I can blog more easily. It also lets you leave comments without registering your email. Yay!
Beautiful Leather Craftsmen Album!
Here's another example of the beautiful albums made by Leather Craftsmen. I've been using them for over 15 years and they are not only extremely well made, but they are the most durable album on the market - something that is very important for a wedding album!
I love the bride's choice of distressed brown leather with blind embossing - classic.

It's always difficult to figure out how to show all the little friends and family shots without making the reception section hugely long. In this album, I came up with kind of a contact sheet effect where I did a "ribbon" of color images on the top and bottom and a third "ribbon" of black and white images in the middle.

Josephine is 4!
I have to share pics of my beautiful girl who turned 4 on Wednesday. We did her party the Saturday before her big day at the Kaleidescope Gym http://www.kodg.com/ They were fabulous, by the way. It was so great to get all the kids sugared up on cake and ice cream and then just let them go wild in the gym for an hour. Such a great idea. We had a doggy theme and gave out little favors with doggy masks, dog bone candy, doggies, and a grow your own tree (since dogs like trees! right?).

Then, on her actual birthday, I kept her home from school and we did a special mother/daughter day at The American Girl Doll place in Natick. We had sooooo much fun. We had a special lunch where they put her doll in a clipon highchair on our table and actually delivered the doll food! Excellent. We got her doll's hair done and we bought her doll a doll, as well as a cute dog and lots of accessories. Super fun.

{Click here for the FULL wedding gallery} Music played a big part in our special day. Starting with the bagpipes (a nod to christopher’s Scottish background), followed by my maid of honor singing the Beatles classic ‘In my Life’ during the ceremony, to our first dance to Bobby Darin’s ‘Beyond the Sea’ which we also tied in with our save the date and invitations. The island really is a place removed from everywhere else- its a magical place beyond the sea. . .and happy we’ll be! My father named me after the song ’sara smile’ by hall & oates. I never imagined dancing with him to anything else. The mariachis at the cocktail hour recognized my brother in law and the beautiful, fun, vibrant culture he has introduced to our lives ( we went to Cabo San Lucas for our honeymoon). As a surprise to my husband, I sang ‘forever in blue jeans’ by Neil Diamond. I am somewhat infamous among our friends and family for my “unique” ( it may be out of tune, but it has heart!) kareoke rendition of this song and it was one of my favorite parts of the night. He turned peony pink and then jumped right up front and danced around as I realized I had just married my biggest fan. From pizza and margaritas to our fondue dessert (the first meal Chris ever made for me and our Valentine’s Day tradition) … my mother’s milk glass vases as centerpieces…to my uncle Ernie’s specially written poem… to my Dad’s best friend’s vintage T-bird serving as our getaway car (which I rode in during a town parade when I was 8)…the day was very meaningful and was comprised of a ton of personal touches.” Photographer: Corinna Raznikov Photography / Venue: Island Farm on Elihu Island – off the coast of Stonington, CT / Attire: The White Dress by the Shore / Event Planners: Lucinda Wesson and Sarah Loomis Crawford / Caterer: Gourmet Galley / Florist: Zuzu’s Petals and Hana Floral Design / Stationary: Stonington PaperieElihu Island Wedding Infused with Charm

Huge Wall of Canvas Photographs
This may be my favorite installation yet and is a great example of the amazing wall display one can make with canvas photographs. I am crazy about photographs on canvas right now. This was a family I've been photographing for about 13 years so we had the kids at a lot of different stages of life. This is ten 20 x 24 and five 16 x20 canvas prints with white borders. It's hung on their stairway wall. I spent about 6 hours hanging it into this perfect grid with lots of help. Whew!

Boston Wedding in Brides.com
Just noticed a beautiful Boston wedding I shot being featured at www.Brides.com This wedding was featured in Boston Weddings Magazine, so this must be a subsidiary of theirs. Either way, I'm thrilled to be recognized. The flowers were by the ever fabulous Winstons and the coordination was by the spectacular coordinator Tasha Bracken from Simple Details.

Wedding in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic!
Oh, my poor neglected blog. Things got so intense here at Corinna Raznikov Photography, I had to forego blogging just to keep up. The new year has come in and now I'm playing catchup. I have a GAZILLION exciting things and images to blog about, and I'm definitley going to have to go out of order now.
First things first though! The SPECTACULAR wedding I shot in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic for Debbie and Benny - perhaps two of the nicest people I've ever worked for. They are both so generous of spirit and passionate about everything - it is intoxicating just to be with them.
More pics of this amazing event coming soon, but here is a teaser of this wonderful event.
